Job description

Imagineeer is seeking a DevOps Engineer (NGSC) focused on building and maintaining cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and automation across AWS and Azure environments. This role will drive infrastructure-as-code practices, container orchestration, and platform security operations including patch and vulnerability management in support of federal mission requirements., * Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitLab to support application and infrastructure deployment

  • Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using CloudFormation, Ansible, and related tooling
  • Architect and support cloud infrastructure across AWS and Azure environments
  • Deploy, manage, and optimize containerized workloads on Amazon EKS
  • Automate repetitive operational tasks to improve deployment speed, reliability, and consistency
  • Manage patch management processes across infrastructure and application environments
  • Support vulnerability management activities, including scanning, remediation tracking, and reporting
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity and infrastructure teams to align DevOps practices with federal security and compliance requirements (NIST, FISMA)
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot infrastructure, pipeline, and deployment issues
  • Partner with Program Management and technical leads to support contract deliverables and documentation

Requirements

  • 6-10 years of experience in DevOps engineering with strong cloud infrastructure background
  • Hands-on experience with GitLab and CI/CD pipeline development
  • Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (CloudFormation, Ansible)
  • Proficiency across both AWS and Azure cloud platforms
  • Experience deploying and managing containerized applications on EKS
  • Experience with patch management and vulnerability management processes and tooling
  • Strong scripting/automation skills (Python, Bash, or similar)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Public Trust clearance
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to work effectively in a fully remote, distributed team environment
  • U.S. Citizenship (per contract requirements)

Desired Skills and Competencies:

  • AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or AWS Certified Solutions Architect
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure DevOps Engineer Expert or Azure Administrator Associate
  • Prior experience supporting federal government contracts
  • Familiarity with vulnerability scanning tools (Tenable, Nessus, or similar)
  • Experience with container security best practices
