Job description

Trigyn's has a long-term contract assignment (3 years) for a Testing Specialist in Hamilton, NJ. The details of the opportunity are below., The Testing Specialist plays a pivotal role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and compliance of the state's Medicaid Enterprise System (MES) modernization. Operating in a hybrid delivery environment, this role is responsible for executing comprehensive testing strategies spanning both Agile software development sprints and formal Waterfall release milestones. The Testing Specialist ensures that all system modules meet rigorous functional and technical requirements by developing detailed use cases, managing defect lifecycles via Jira and HP ALM, and generating the strict Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM) evidence necessary to achieve Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) certification.

Specific Role Requirements: Planning & Execution Test

  • Methodology Alignment: Design and execute testing phases (System, Integration, Regression, and User Acceptance Testing) supporting both Agile sprint cycles and structured Waterfall gating milestones.
  • Use Case Development: Translate complex business and technical requirements into comprehensive test plans, detailed use cases, and actionable test scripts.
  • Defect Management: Identify, log, and triage system defects, coordinating directly with development teams and vendors to ensure timely resolution and re-testing.
  • Cross-Vendor Integration: Conduct end-to-end integration testing across diverse modular vendor solutions (e.g., Core Systems, Pharmacy, Data Warehouse) to ensure seamless data handoffs and system interoperability.

Compliance & Traceability

  • RTM Evidence Management: Actively manage testing outcomes within the Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM), ensuring every test case and result provides concrete, auditable evidence mapped directly to original business requirements.
  • CMS Certification Testing: Support federal compliance by executing testing protocols specifically aligned with Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) certification frameworks and milestone reviews.
  • Quality Audits: Participate in formal phase-gate reviews, providing testing metrics, execution summaries, and quality assurance sign-offs to the PMO and executive stakeholders.

Requirements

Domain Expertise

  • Medicaid & MMIS: Deep foundational knowledge of Medicaid Management Information Systems (MMIS), Medicaid Enterprise Systems (MES), and healthcare claims processing workflows.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Proven experience participating in state and federal regulatory testing, specifically supporting CMS certification processes and generating required compliance artifacts.

Methodologies & Frameworks

  • Hybrid Testing: Demonstrated ability to adapt testing strategies across both traditional Waterfall life cycles and modern Agile/SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) environments.
  • QA Best Practices: Strong understanding of software quality assurance principles, test automation concepts, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) impacts on testing.

Technical Proficiency

  • Testing & Defect Tools: Expert-level proficiency utilizing HP ALM (Application Lifecycle Management) for structured test management and Jira for Agile tracking and defect resolution.
  • Traceability Tools: Experience maintaining RTMs and test evidence repositories utilizing tools like Confluence, SharePoint, or dedicated requirements management software.
  • Documentation: Exceptional written communication skills for authoring clear, reproducible defect reports, test scenarios, and user validation guides.
