Job description
- Ensure accurate and timely cash application by processing all incoming payments
- Research, resolve, and apply all cash receipts and wire payments
- Identify and resolve payment discrepancies and customer billing issues
- Maintain and update customer files, including name or address changes, mergers, or mailing attentions
- Monitor daily cashreceived versus AR activity
- Communicate with customers regarding billing discrepancies and questions
- Work closely with the collections department to ensure proper application of payments
- Generate monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports for management
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, * Occasionally lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
- Bend, reach, stoop, or climb stairs as needed.
- Maintain the ability to perform repetitive hand and wrist movements.
Communication Requirements
The successful candidate must be able to:
- Effectively communicate verbally and in writing with employees, customers, vendors, and business partners.
- Read, analyze, and interpret business documents and correspondence.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and other written communications.
- Actively listen and respond professionally in both individual and group settings.
- Maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive or proprietary information.
Requirements
- Experience ina high transaction volumeenvironment
- Ability tofollow processbut be innovative andrecommend improvements to those processes
- Proven work experience as a Cash Applications Specialist or similar role
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles
- Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel, and accounting software
- Excellent data entry skills and a high degree of accuracy
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong numerical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- High school diploma; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is a plus
