Job description

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Test Automation Engineer to join our team on a contract basis. This role is pivotal in designing, developing, and executing automated testing solutions for mobile and web applications, ensuring the highest quality standards are met across diverse platforms including Android and iOS. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for quality assurance, expertise in test automation tools, and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues early in the development lifecycle. Your contributions will directly impact the delivery of seamless user experiences and robust software products., * Develop, maintain, and enhance automated test scripts using tools such as Selenium, TestNG, JUnit, Cucumber, and scripting languages like Python, Java, or JavaScript to validate mobile applications on Android and iOS platforms.

  • Design comprehensive test plans and test cases based on business requirements, functional specifications, and technical documentation to ensure thorough coverage of system functionalities.
  • Execute automated tests within continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines utilizing tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, or Azure DevOps to facilitate rapid feedback cycles.
  • Perform API testing of RESTful web services using tools like Postman or SoapUI; analyze API responses for correctness and performance metrics.
  • Conduct performance testing using LoadRunner or similar tools to assess system scalability and responsiveness under varying load conditions.
  • Analyze test results to identify root causes of failures; collaborate with development teams to troubleshoot issues using debugging techniques and defect tracking tools like Jira or HP ALM.
  • Support user acceptance testing (UAT) by preparing test environments, executing test cases, and documenting outcomes to ensure client satisfaction before release.
  • Maintain version control of test scripts and configurations via SVN, GitHub, or GitLab; ensure adherence to SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) best practices.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in test automation within an Agile environment, with strong knowledge of SDLC methodologies such as Waterfall or Scrum.
  • Hands-on expertise with automation frameworks like Selenium WebDriver integrated with TestNG or JUnit for functional testing of web applications.
  • Solid understanding of mobile testing on Android and iOS platforms including experience with Appium or similar mobile automation tools.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript, Java, C#, or C++ for creating robust automation scripts; familiarity with scripting best practices.
  • Experience testing RESTful APIs using tools like Postman or SoapUI; knowledge of JSON/XML data formats is essential.
  • Familiarity with database management systems including MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, DB2, or MongoDB; ability to perform data analysis and write complex SQL/PLSQL queries.
  • Knowledge of version control systems such as GitHub, GitLab, or SVN; experience integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or Azure DevOps is highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform root cause analysis and debugging; excellent problem-solving capabilities under tight deadlines.
  • Experience working with defect tracking tools like Jira or HP ALM; understanding of QA/QC processes within IT environments is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams including developers, business analysts, and stakeholders.
