Job description

We are seeking an experienced Okta Administrator Identity & Access Management Specialist to support a large enterprise Identity and Access Management (IAM) environment. This individual will serve as the primary technical resource responsible for the administration, configuration, and ongoing support of the Okta Identity platform. The ideal candidate has strong experience administering enterprise Okta environments, managing authentication and identity lifecycle processes, and supporting application integrations across complex IT environments. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with IAM, infrastructure, application owners, and business stakeholders while helping maintain secure and reliable identity services. Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the subject matter expert for the Okta Identity platform.
  • Administer and maintain Okta tenant configurations, security policies, and authentication settings.
  • Configure and support Single Sign-On (SSO), Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), and lifecycle management processes.
  • Manage user groups, workflows, access policies, and provisioning activities.
  • Lead application onboarding and integration efforts utilizing:
  • SAML
  • OpenID Connect (OIDC)
  • LDAP
  • SCIM
  • REST APIs
  • Troubleshoot authentication, federation, provisioning, and access management issues.
  • Collaborate with internal IT teams, application owners, and business stakeholders to support identity solutions.
  • Develop operational documentation, standards, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Provide knowledge transfer and mentoring to internal team members.
  • Recommend improvements to identity management processes and platform operations.

Requirements

  • Okta Certified Administrator certification or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience administering Okta in an enterprise environment.
  • Hands-on experience managing enterprise authentication and Single Sign-On solutions.
  • Strong understanding of:
  • Okta Universal Directory
  • Adaptive MFA
  • Lifecycle Management
  • Single Sign-On (SSO)
  • Experience implementing and supporting:
  • SAML
  • OAuth 2.0
  • OpenID Connect (OIDC)
  • LDAP
  • SCIM
  • Knowledge of identity lifecycle management, role-based access controls (RBAC), and governance practices.
  • Experience working directly with business stakeholders and application owners.
  • Familiarity with REST APIs, scripting, and automation tools.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills., * Experience within higher education environments.
  • Experience with SailPoint IdentityIQ or Identity Security Cloud.
  • Experience integrating Okta with:

  • Experience with Okta Workflows and automation tools.
  • Okta Certified Consultant certification.
