Job description
Northrop Grumman Defense Systems (NGDS) is looking for Computer System Architects based out of Huntsville, Alabama for the IBCS Poland Integrated Battle Command System (IBCS). IBCS Poland Integrated Battle Command System is a revolutionary, network enabled command-and control system developed by Northrop Grumman that Poland has deployed to unify its air and missile defense sensors and shooters. IBCS Poland Integrated Battle Command System delivers a single integrated air picture with unprecedented accuracy and broadens surveillance and protection areas. By implementing IBCS Poland Integrated Battle Command System into their militaries, the US and other nations are transforming their integrated missile defense capabilities in a consistent manner.
This requisition may be filled at either a, Computer System Architect - Level 2 or a Principal Computer Systems Architect - Level 3.
Requirements

Basic Qualifications for a Computer System Architect - Level 2: 2 Years with Bachelors in Science; 0 Years with Masters or 4 additional years in lieu of a degree

Basic Qualifications for Principal Computer Systems Architect - Level 3: 5 Years with Bachelors in Science; 3 Years with Masters; 1 Year with PhD or 4 additional years in lieu of a degree, Basic Qualifications:

Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) system administration experience
-
Strong software, system, and network troubleshooting skills
-
Ability to script or work at the command line level within RHEL and Windows-based systems (Bash, PowerCLI, PowerShell, or Python)
-
Basic understanding of all phases of software development, and practical experience in an Agile/DevOps environment
-
Basic understanding of networking to include subnets, routing, VLANs, etc.

Must have an active Secret Clearance

Current DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification (i.e., Security+, etc.), * Understanding of routing/switching and experience debugging network-oriented applications

Experience with automation tools such as Ansible
-
Administration experience with VMware vSphere 7.x or higher
-
Experience integrating COTS, GOTS and custom software in a security constrained environment
-
Working knowledge of Linux systems in a Windows Domain environment

Experience with Air & Missile Defense Command and Control programs such as IBCS, PATRIOT, SENTINEL, C2BMC or THAAD or any sensor/weapon system, Link 16 experience

Experience with implementing STIGs and tracking non-compliance on Plan of Action & Milestones (POA&M)

Previous experience with Atlassian Tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Bamboo, Fisheye, Crucible, etc.)

Ability to generate procedures that test functionality

Additional Operating System Environment Certification i.e., (MCSA, MCSE, Linux+, RHCSA, Net+, CCNA, VMware Certified, etc.)
Benefits & conditions
Primary Level Salary Range: $87,600.00 - $131,400.00
Secondary Level Salary Range: $108,800.00 - $163,200.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
