Job description
- Develop and manage system requirements and specifications.
- Translate customer and stakeholder needs into technical requirements.
- Perform system architecture design and trade-off analysis.
- Coordinate across engineering disciplines (mechanical, electrical, software).
- Ensure system integration and compatibility across subsystems.
- Support verification, validation, and testing (V&V) activities.
- Conduct risk analysis and mitigation planning.
- Maintain requirements traceability throughout the project lifecycle.
- Participate in design reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR, etc.).
- Support lifecycle phases: concept, design, development, testing, and deployment.
- Prepare technical documentation and reports.
- Administer engineering, commercial, contract documentation and maintain document control registry.
Requirements
- INCOSE Systems Engineering certification (ASEP or CSEP)
- Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
- Industry experience (e.g., marine, defense, energy, manufacturing)
· Knowledge of drawing control standards (e.g., CAD document management)
- Familiarity with standards (ISO, MIL-STD, etc.)
General
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Systems, Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or related)
- 3+ years of experience in systems engineering or complex engineering projects
- Experience with:
- Requirements management and system modelling tools
- Strong understanding of:
- Engineering design lifecycle
- Integration and test processes
- Risk and configuration management
- Ability to work across multidisciplinary teams
- Familiarity with Document Management processes (Document Register, use of Transmittals, etc)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with ERP software, Epicor preferred.

Physical Requirements
The employee must be able to stand, stoop, kneel, and lift up to 15 pounds. The work environment may include tight spaces or elevated surfaces, including climbing steps, ladders, and platforms. Withstand working in the heat of the shop environment. Work sitting at a desk for extended periods.
