Job description

We are supporting a large healthcare system as they undertake a major network hardware deployment across hospitals, clinics, and care facilities throughout Wisconsin. We are seeking a Network Deployment Engineer to join the field team responsible for installing, configuring, and validating newly purchased network equipment across the client's environment.

This is a hands-on, field-based role that requires frequent statewide travel. You will work alongside experienced network engineers and clinical IT staff to ensure seamless deployment activities in active healthcare environments.

Responsibilities

  • Install and configure enterprise network equipment, including wireless access points and access-layer switches
  • Replace legacy hardware with newly deployed devices across hospitals, clinics, and remote care facilities
  • Follow established network standards for VLANs, QoS, security settings, and controller-based wireless configurations
  • Perform onsite surveys to confirm cabling, mounting locations, PoE readiness, and environmental requirements
  • Document each installation with detailed location notes, photos, and validation results
  • Collaborate with the client's network engineering team during cutovers and post-deployment testing
  • Troubleshoot onsite connectivity issues and escalate when necessary
  • Provide consistent progress updates to project management regarding completed sites, timelines, and risks
  • Maintain a strong commitment to safety, professionalism, and patient-sensitive awareness within clinical settings

Requirements

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with enterprise networking
  • Strong working knowledge of wireless access point installation/configuration (Cisco, Meraki, Aruba, or similar)
  • Experience mounting APs, validating RF signal, confirming switch port readiness, and following wireless design guidelines
  • Proficiency with switch provisioning, VLAN configuration, and general Layer 2 networking
  • Comfortable working onsite in hospitals and clinical facilities
  • Ability to travel frequently throughout Wisconsin
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license

Preferred Experience

  • Prior experience working in healthcare environments
  • Participation in large-scale hardware refresh or infrastructure rollout projects
  • Familiarity with Ekahau or other wireless planning/validation tools
  • Experience collaborating with remote network engineering teams

Pay: $45.00 - $55.00 per hour

Application Question(s):

  • How familiar are you with VLAN configuration and Layer 2 networking?
  • How many years of hands-on experience do you have installing and configuring enterprise network equipment (switches, access points, etc.)?
  • Which wireless platforms have you installed or configured in production environments?
