Job description

We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead the team behind a franchisee analytics product and the content authoring and administration platform that supports it. In this role you will own engineering delivery for two major product launches landing this year, set the technical and quality bar for the team, and grow a group of engineers into a high-performing, predictable delivery team. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who leads through both people and technical judgment, in a platform environment where shared services own identity and core building blocks and product teams build experiences on top of them.

  • Own engineering delivery and accountability for two significant product launches this year, along with the ongoing platform that supports them.

  • Lead, coach, and grow a team of software engineers. Develop individuals, run a healthy and predictable delivery process, and build a culture of ownership and quality.

  • Set and hold the technical bar: code review standards, test coverage, release governance, and operational readiness.

  • Provide architectural direction across an analytics product (operational and financial performance dashboards) and a content and administration platform (content authoring, role-based access, and brand administration).

  • Lead integration with the shared platform services your team consumes but does not own, including identity and authentication, shared front-end components, and the data services that provide user and location information. Coordinating cleanly across those boundaries is central to the job.

  • Make sound build-versus-leverage decisions and keep the team aligned to the broader platform direction.

  • Partner with product managers, designers, fellow engineering leaders, and QA to turn roadmap into deliverable plans and to surface risk early and constructively.

Requirements

  • Experience managing and developing software engineers, including running delivery for a team. Strong first-time managers with a solid technical foundation and clear people-leadership instincts will be considered.

  • A strong engineering background in modern web application development, for example TypeScript, Node.js, and React, or comparable, with the depth to lead architecture and review work credibly.

  • A track record of shipping production software against real deadlines, including coordinating across teams and dependencies you do not directly control.

  • Comfort operating in a platform environment with shared services, clear separation of concerns, and service-to-service integration.

  • Clear written and verbal communication, and the judgment to escalate risk early.
