Job description
We are seeking a dedicated IT Help desk Technician to join our IT team. This is an entry-level role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about supporting scientific innovation through exceptional IT support. You will work closely with experienced IT engineers who maintain a seamless technological infrastructure while gaining valuable hands-on experience in advanced IT projects., * Serve as the first point of contact for employees experiencing technical issues, ensuring smooth daily operations across the organization.
- Troubleshoot basic hardware, software, and networking issues, including PCs, printers, mobile devices, and laboratory equipment.
- Provide IT support for remote employees, ensuring seamless technical operations across locations.
- Assist with system setups, configurations, and software installations.
- Configure and deploy workstations and lab equipment while adhering to security protocols.
- Work with IT/AV-related Software/Hardware
- Provision/decommission equipment and accounts when employees leave or join the company.
- Collaborate with senior IT engineers on infrastructure upgrades and server maintenance.
- Escalate issues to appropriate teams according to internal procedures and provide documentation of any actions taken.
Requirements
- Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Experience with service/help desk systems
- Hands-on experience supporting modern operating systems (Windows, MacOS, Linux, iOS, and Android)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Teams, Cisco WebEx, Zoom, and strong capability to learn new software and systems.
- Familiarity with concepts of virtualized environments, cloud computing, and various network technologies including DNS, DHCP, and IP addressing.
- Familiarity with Cisco managed switches/routers, Palo Alto Firewalls, and basic cabling
- Ability to handle multiple requests/projects simultaneously and prioritize.
- Ability to demonstrate clear & confident communication skills both written and verbal.
- Ability to deal with problems and technical issues in a friendly, calm, and reassuring manner.
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to lift or move items weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to handle multiple requests/projects simultaneously and prioritize.

- Paid holidays, The expected base salary range for this position is $45,000 - $70,000 annually. Actual compensation will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to a candidate's level qualifications, experience, and skills. While most offers typically fall within the low to mid-point of the range, we may extend an offer toward the higher end for exceptional candidates whose background and expertise exceeds the requirements of the role.
