Job description

The Shipping & Container Specialist is the backbone of the logistics department, ensuring that goods move from the warehouse to the customer's door accurately, safely, and on time. The Shipping & Container Specialist plays a vital, hands-on role in balancing daily shipping workflows with specialized container logistics. Serving as a reliable anchor on the floor, this individual is responsible for the end-to-end physical handling and digital transaction tracking of sea/rail containers. This role requires an active forklift certification, an "all-over" adaptability to support multiple warehouse functions as needed, and strict ownership over the cleanliness and organization of the shipping area. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and possesses a strong understanding of logistics and supply chain procedures while maintaining a positive, safe, and clean work environment., * Forklift Operation: Safely and efficiently operate forklift equipment to support all-over warehouse needs, container management, and daily freight staging.

  • Manage multiple priorities and demands within established requirements, RECEIVING AND INVENTORY MANAGEMENT
  • Perform all incoming receiving functions: unload shipments, inspect for damage/quantity discrepancies, and verify against purchase orders and packing slips.
  • Accurately record inventory transactions in the system.
  • Maintain bin organization, labeling, and integrity.
  • Execute cycle counts to ensure high levels of inventory accuracy.

LOGISTICS AND FULLFILLMENT

  • Support outbound shipping operations: pick, pack, and label products according to company standards for timely dispatch.
  • Coordinate with logistics carriers for pickups and ensure all shipping documentation (bills of lading, packing lists) is complete and accurate.

ASSEMBLY AND KITTING

  • Actively assist in assembly kitting processes to support production needs.
  • Ensure all necessary components are staged for efficient assembly.

GENERAL WAREHOUSE SUPPORT

  • Provide general warehouse operational support to maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment.
  • Ability to lift/move heavy items as required by standard warehouse operations.
  • Clean up of Warehouse as needed
  • All other duties assigned

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND DEMANDS

  • This position is active and requires routine movement through the Wixom facility

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required), * 1-3 years in warehouse, shipping, or logistics operations
  • Proficiency in shipping software and MS Excel
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar
