Job description

We are seeking a skilled Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM) Administrator to ensure the reliable operation, configuration, and maintenance of the enterprise endpoint management infrastructure supporting USCENTCOM operations. This role is responsible for maintaining optimal endpoint health, patch compliance, software delivery, and security while supporting mission-critical operations in a high-tempo environment.

The MECM Administrator will operate as a senior technical contributor and may serve as a team lead or task area lead, providing coordination and technical leadership across a team of endpoint administrators. This position requires strong troubleshooting expertise, disciplined change management, and the ability to support complex enterprise environments while collaborating across multiple IT domains.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

Primary Responsibilities

  • Maintain and manage the enterprise MECM infrastructure (site servers, distribution points, management points, and SQL reporting), ensuring systems are secure, reliable, and aligned with mission requirements.

  • Develop and implement technical solutions for endpoint configuration, software deployment, operating system deployment (OSD), and enterprise architecture.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex client health, deployment, patching, and MECM infrastructure issues to minimize downtime and mission impact.

  • Perform advanced software packaging, application deployments, patching, and updates to operating systems and layered applications across the enterprise.

  • Monitor and tune the MECM environment to achieve optimal performance, availability, and reliability.

  • Ensure data integrity and endpoint security through implementation of approved configurations, compliance baselines, security controls, and best practices.

  • Lead or support disaster recovery and continuity efforts to ensure MECM services and endpoint recoverability.

  • Conduct system and endpoint audits to ensure compliance with DISA STIGs, patch compliance metrics, policies, and configuration standards.

  • Evaluate existing endpoint management processes and recommend improvements to enhance performance, scalability, and security.

Technical Leadership & Coordination

  • Serve as a team lead or task area lead, providing technical leadership and coordination across a team of endpoint administrators supporting enterprise operations.

  • Lead or coordinate task execution for complex, high-visibility, or time-sensitive operational efforts.

  • Serve as an acting senior point of contact during outages, escalations, or when team leadership is unavailable.

  • Assist in prioritizing workload and aligning team efforts with mission requirements, SLAs, and operational priorities.

  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams (ESS, Virtualization, Storage, Network, Monitoring, Customer Support, etc) to resolve issues and implement solutions.

Secondary Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with IT teams to design and implement endpoint management solutions aligned with organizational and mission objectives.

  • Provide mentorship and guidance to less-experienced administrators, promoting technical growth and knowledge sharing.

  • Develop and maintain SOPs, playbooks, and technical documentation to support operational continuity.

  • Perform DISA STIG review, implementation, and compliance validation across managed endpoints.

  • Support incident response activities, bridge calls, and troubleshooting efforts during major outages or events.

  • Contribute to process improvement, standardization, and automation initiatives across the endpoint management environment.
