Job description

An Application Developer serves as the technical expert on complex applications development work assignments and problems. This position serves as a staff specialist on one or more systems and is normally responsible for the entire lifecycle of an application to include analysis, coding, testing, and documentation. The Applications Developer applies significant professional experience and training in information technology and computer programming to the analysis, design, modification, and maintenance of application programs, integrated systems, and/or software solutions., The ideal candidate will also have experience creating and maintaining custom complex business critical enterprise applications in a retail environment supporting the supply chain, Merchandising, Inventory, Accounting, Warehouse Logistics, Time Management and Point-of-Sale systems. Job Responsibilities

  • Develop programming code and software modifications using appropriate languages and tools to provide responsive and innovative solutions, and new functionality in enterprise-wide systems
  • Work with project manager or product owner to meet specification needs
  • Collaborate with other developers to design and optimize code
  • Develop, maintain and support associated databases
  • Analyze user system and application needs, determine and evaluate potential solutions, develop system specifications and requirements, and design secure application programs to meet the requirements
  • Perform routine software maintenance
  • Recommend software upgrades to optimize operational efficiency
  • Design integrated solutions which may include applications, databases, networks, and related systems
  • Other duties/tasks as assigned

Requirements

This position requires specialized knowledge of appropriate programming languages and development tools. This is an intermediate to senior level professional position requiring the ability to complete difficult development and programming tasks independently., * Exhibit a willingness to consistently take on new challenges

  • Highly proficient in Microsoft technologies
  • Experience with relational databases such as SQL Server, Oracle and MySQL
  • Comfortable learning new languages, frameworks, and tools
  • Strong knowledge of data structures and asynchronous architectures
  • Solid understanding of relational database modeling and design, including experience building data-intensive applications
  • Strong communication & collaboration skills, and a belief that team output is more important than individual output
  • Deadline and detail-oriented
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to receive constructive feedback in a professional manner
  • Must be able to use sound judgement and know when to ask for assistance, * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field; or related work experience
  • Minimum 5 years previous experience in software development, computer engineering, or other related fields
  • Knowledge of Microsoft .Net technologies, C#, VB, SQL, Java, or other programming languages
