Job description
Lockheed Martin Space is seeking an Mechanism Manufacturing Engineer in Kennedy Space Center, Florida to plan and author procedures for the Orion Spacecraft Elements Team and provide floor support for Mechanical and Electrical Integration environments.
The applicant will perform specific duties to include, but are not limited to:
- Performs various duties including creating and/or developing mechanical manufacturing work instructions.
- Determines the sequence of build, selecting or designing required tools, and solves production problems during the build of mechanical piece parts and assemblies.
- Assists in investigating design/manufacturing factors such as equipment or part availability, manufacturability, ease of assembly, and large assembly management.
- Develops and maintains all assembly documentation.
- Troubleshoot/correct anomalies and discrepant hardware.
- Performs producibility reviews on engineering designs/drawings to assess manufacturability, ease of assembly, and material availability.
- Routinely interfaces with program personnel and reports project status to leadership.
- Ability to work Sunday through Thursday is required for this role.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (Mechanical/Aerospace/ Electrical/Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering )
- Knowledge of production manufacturing and assembly processes.
- Experienced in the review of engineering drawings.
- Strong written communication including technical writing.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret various technical procedures and reports.
- Advanced Skills in the Microsoft Office software suite.
- Willingness and ability to work alternative shifts to include 2nd and split shifts.
- Must be a United States, Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
