Job description
The Director of Financial Systems is responsible for the oversight, support, and strategic management of multiple financial business systems at CoStar Group, a $3B publicly traded company. This role is deeply embedded in and highly knowledgeable of the end-to-end processes supporting the CFO organization and its functional teams.
Reporting to the Senior Director of Financial Systems & Transformation, this position is accountable for the functional, technical, and administrative support of both core and legacy financial business systems. Legacy systems primarily include platforms acquired through business acquisitions that have since been integrated into CoStar Group.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Planning & Systems Management

Develop and execute strategies for system stability, modernization, integration, and eventual migration or decommissioning of legacy platforms.

Maintain along-termsystems roadmap aligned with business and transformationobjectives.
Technical & Operational Oversight

Ensure the ongoing stability, security, availability, and performance of all managed financial systems.

Proactivelyidentifyand mitigate technical risks to critical business processes.
Mergers & Acquisitions Support

Lead the intake and evaluation of newlyacquiredfinancial systems, including:

Process, compliance, and functionality assessments

System documentation and knowledge transfer

Staffing, training, and transition planning

Integration into the managed financial systems portfolio
Vendor & Contract Management
- Own vendor relationships supporting financial business systems, including contract management, service levels, renewals, and performance oversight.
Issue Resolution & Risk Management

Lead resolution of complex technical issues, security vulnerabilities, andsystem-relatedincidents.

Ensureappropriate escalation, remediation, and documentation.
People & Team Leadership

Lead, mentor, and develop ahigh-performingteam of direct IT staff and contract resources, bothon-siteand remote.

Drive accountability, knowledge growth, and operational excellence across the team.
Business & IT Collaboration

Partner closely with business stakeholders (billing, collections, cash operations, accounting, finance, etc.) to support effective use of legacy systems.

Collaborate with other IT teams on infrastructure, access, vulnerability management, and security patching.
System Migration & Transformation

Support and contribute to enterprise migration initiatives that move business activity from legacy systems to core corporate financial platforms.

Partner with Financial Business Systems and IT teams to ensure successful transition and minimal disruption.
International Scope
- Oversee systems, teams, and vendor resourceslocatedboth domestically and internationally.
Compliance & Controls

Ensure systemscomply withITGC/SOX requirements and internal control standards.

Enforce change management and access control processes across all supported platforms.
Requirements
-
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field from an accredited,not-for-profit,in-personcollege or university.

A track record of commitment to prior employers.
-
10+ years of experience managing, developing, and supporting financial business systems across cloud, client/server, midrange, and enterprise environments.

7+ years of people management experience leading professional IT teams of 7+ individuals, with a proven record of building and developinghigh-performingteams.

Minimum of 5 years' experience within a large, publicly traded organization.

Provenexpertisemanaging multiple concurrent small-tomid-scaleERP environments ($10M+).

Extensive experience implementing, supporting, and managing ERP, CRM, and financial systems such as Oracle, NetSuite, Great Plains, Dynamics/Navision, SAP, QuickBooks, Sage, Salesforce, Zuora, and similar platforms.
Preferred Qualifications

International systemsexperience.

Experience supporting Services, SaaS, orinternet-basedbusinesses.

MBA or other relevant master's degree.

The final salary or hourly rate offered for this role will fall within the range set forth below based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, geographic location, skills, and competencies.
Base Compensation: $161,000.00-$273,900.00 Annually
