Job description

The Geospatial Analyst will conduct research on remote sensing and machine learning to develop models that produce spatial data products required for large-scale agricultural systems modeling.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and improve machine learning models for estimating crop biophysical

  • properties using satellite remote sensing datasets.

  • Implement spatial and remote sensing data processing algorithms to produce datasets

  • to integrate and/or assimilate into crop models.

  • Assist with literature review, reports, and publishing research findings in peer-reviewed journals.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Environmental Science/Engineering, or related field. Four years of related experience.

  • Or, Master's degree in Data Science, Environmental Science/Engineering, or related field. Two years of related experience.

  • Experience working on spatial data processing using ArcGIS, R, and/or Python.

  • Experience in building, training, and deploying machine learning models.

  • Experience working with satellite remote sensing data and data mining techniques.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in the Unix/Linux environment.

  • Expertise in data assimilation techniques.
