Job description
- We deploy applications and software to cloud or on-premises environments across our business areas.
- We build and set up development tools and infrastructure.
- We understand the needs of project stakeholders.
- We automate and improve development and release processes.
- We ensure our systems are safe and secure against cyber security threats.
- We identify technical problems and develop software updates and solutions.
- We work with other engineers to ensure development follows established processes and works as intended.

This is a permanent, full-time Principal Platform Engineer role based in Manchester, with a hybrid working model of at least three days a week on site.
Requirements
- We require candidates to be willing and eligible to hold SC and eDV clearance.
- We require candidates to be willing to attain eDV clearance.
- Experience working in an Agile, Scrum, or DevOps delivery model.
- Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS or Azure.
- Experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform, Puppet, Chef, or Ansible.
- Experience building and deploying large-scale applications in Continuous Integration/Delivery pipelines.
- Experience with container platforms and orchestration systems such as ECS, AKS, Kubernetes, Helm, or Docker.
- Experience with automation and integration tools such as Jenkins, Concourse CI, or cloud equivalents.
- Experience with scripting languages and source control.
