Job description

  • We will have you support security engineering compliance, including NIS compliance and governance.
  • We will have you deliver the strategic Security Engineering programme across our FlexGen estate, including Hydro and BESS assets.
  • We will have you deliver innovation and strategic maintenance initiatives tailored to security requirements across cyber, physical, and market economics.
  • We will have you travel to sites across our FlexGen portfolio throughout the UK.
  • We will have you deliver the Hydro-focused NIS Enhanced Profile plan, including drafting technical policy and general documentation.
  • We will have you assist our FlexGen engineering teams with identifying, remediating, and avoiding network-based attacks from internal and external sources.
  • We will have you use processes and technologies to detect and prevent malicious attacks to our FlexGen networks, and respond to security events from detection and analysis through to closure.
  • We will have you help ensure our network architecture supports confidentiality, integrity, and availability through proactive monitoring, resilient technical design, effective capacity planning, and vulnerability remediation.
  • We will have you maintain documentation of proposed and deployed infrastructure and contribute to Business Continuity Planning and Crisis Management.

Based in Glasgow with a hybrid working pattern, this permanent full-time Senior Security Engineer role sits within our Operations & Project Delivery function and supports our FlexGen estate across the UK. Requirements

  • We ideally want experience operating in a Cyber Security, network engineering, maintenance, or operational role, with experience in critical national infrastructure highly desirable.
  • We want knowledge of network security technologies and processes, including current and emerging security threats and methods to counter them.
  • We want experience designing and implementing security zones and conduits in line with IEC 62443.
  • We want hands-on knowledge of firewalls, including enterprise and industrial firewalls.
  • We want the ability to read and interpret network diagrams, IP addressing schemes, and VLAN and routing tables.
  • We want strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and manage relationships with colleagues, senior management, and external stakeholders.
  • We want strong oral and written communication skills, including creating and delivering reports, procedures, and presentations.
  • We want the ability to interpret and understand complex analytical data to support effective decision-making.
