Job description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Network Engineer to join our growing technology team in London. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled networking professional who thrives in complex enterprise environments and enjoys designing, implementing, and maintaining secure, high-performing network infrastructure.

You'll play a key role in supporting business-critical systems, driving infrastructure improvements, and ensuring the reliability, security, and scalability of our network operations while collaborating with cross-functional technical teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure across LAN, WAN, WLAN, and cloud-connected environments.
  • Configure and support routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and load balancers.
  • Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement proactive improvements.
  • Troubleshoot complex network incidents and provide timely root cause analysis.
  • Manage network security, access controls, and compliance with organisational security standards.
  • Support high availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity initiatives.
  • Lead infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and network optimisation projects.
  • Create and maintain accurate technical documentation, network diagrams, and operating procedures.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity, cloud, infrastructure, and service desk teams to deliver reliable IT services.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute technical expertise across the wider IT function.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Senior Network Engineer, Network Infrastructure Engineer, or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise networking technologies including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPN, BGP, OSPF, and STP.
  • Experience configuring and supporting Cisco, Juniper, Aruba, Fortinet, Palo Alto, or equivalent enterprise networking platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with firewalls, network monitoring, and performance optimisation tools.
  • Familiarity with cloud networking within Microsoft Azure or AWS environments.
  • Experience with network security best practices and infrastructure resilience.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively across technical and non-technical teams., * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Professional certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, JNCIP, Fortinet NSE, or equivalent are highly desirable.
  • Experience working within ITIL-based environments is advantageous.
