Job description
Pixel Systems is a small, remote software agency that builds the tools teams actually use. We do not do flashy consumer apps or marketing sites. Instead, we focus on the practical stuff: admin panels, CRM integrations, and the database migrations that people usually try to avoid. Our clients come to us when they need to replace a sprawling spreadsheet with a real database or get their different software tools to finally talk to one another., In this position, you will work alongside our developers as we clean up data for the British infrastructure project. This is not about complex theoretical models: it is about the fundamental accuracy of information that keeps real world operations running. You will spend time reviewing records for duplicates, mismatched fields, or missing information. Part of your day might involve manual verification of records, while another part will involve running simple tools to find inconsistencies across thousands of rows of data. You will help document where the data came from and how it was changed, ensuring that the final database is a solid foundation for the client operations teams. Since we are a remote team, you will participate in digital stand ups and use internal documentation to track the status of different datasets. Your work will directly impact how the software functions, as clean data is the backbone of any system we build.
Requirements
We believe that working code is better than a perfect plan that never ships. Our approach is straightforward. We provide fixed quotes before we start, we do weekly demos, and we hand over everything, the code, the documentation, and even walkthrough videos, when we are finished. We use reliable, well tested technologies like Node, React, and Postgres because we want the software we build to be stable and easy to maintain. We are a senior team of developers and designers who prefer solving real operational headaches over chasing the latest trends., We need someone who is exceptionally organized and comfortable with tasks that require high focus. You do not need a long history in the industry, but you should have a basic understanding of how databases and spreadsheets work. We value the following qualities:
- A high level of attention to detail, noticing things like incorrect postal code formats or logically impossible dates.
- Clear communication skills, specifically the ability to write simple, direct updates in project channels.
- Comfort with unflashy work: we solve real world maintenance and logistics headaches.
- A basic understanding of how data is structured in a table or spreadsheet.
- The ability to manage your own time effectively in a fully remote environment.
- A willingness to ask questions when data entries seem confusing or contradictory.
- Persistence when cross referencing information across different systems or files.
Helpful background While this is an entry level role, there are a few technical basics that will help you get started quickly:
- Familiarity with Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets, including basic sorting and filtering.
- A basic curiosity about how data moves between different software systems via APIs.
- Any experience with SQL or a desire to learn how to write simple queries to look at data.
- A basic understanding of JavaScript or Node, as these are part of our core technology stack.
- Experience using digital collaboration tools like GitHub to track tasks or documentation.
- An interest in how large scale infrastructure or logistics systems are organized., Working at Pixel Systems
Benefits & conditions
Working here is different from a large corporate environment. Because we are a remote company, we value results and clear communication over office politics or long meetings. You will work directly with the developers building the software, and your findings will immediately influence the code we write. We offer a competitive salary that is attractive for the role and the market, and you will have the stability of a permanent position. Because we are a small team, you will get to see exactly how a software project goes from a messy spreadsheet to a finished, working application that helps real people, like utility managers and maintenance crews, do their jobs correctly. We keep things simple. We do not have deep management layers, so when something needs to be fixed, we just talk about it and fix it. We take pride in building stable systems that stay fixed once we are done. If you enjoy solving practical problems and are looking for a place where you can learn the fundamentals of data management and software development in a supportive environment, this is a great place to begin. ,workplace_type
