Job description

The IT Network Administrator II is responsible for installation, extension, and maintenance of the existing hospital network..

Job Specific Responsibilities

Daily assignments may include but are not limited to:

  • Provide cabling and network support for PNS ad its affiliated clinics
  • Assist with the coordination and the installation of network expansion projects.
  • Coordinate the distribution of network servers and other network equipment throughout the institution.
  • Verify that all network expansion is properly documented and labeled.
  • Maintain communication racks in an efficient manner to allow for easy access and support.
  • Coordinate the extension of UMC's network to include remote sites such as off-site clinics.
  • All other assigned duties delegated by IT Manager, Manager IT Enterprise Network and/or department director, in a timely and accurate fashion

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/ GED
  • +1 year of experience supporting and managing large scale ethernet cabling or enterprise networks

Required Licensures/Certifications/Registrations

ITIL Preferred

Skills and Abilities

  • Current knowledge and competency of Cisco technologies, LAN/WAN, AND network security
  • Demonstrated customer service attitude and approach to business
  • Keen attention to details
  • Strong organizational, technical, and troubleshooting skills

Interaction with Other Departments and Other Relationships

This position has much interaction with various hospital department leaders, outlying clinics, and TTUHSC network personnel, Ability to lift PC and network peripherals, none to exceed 30 lbs. Ability to walk to all network communication centers within the UMC / TTUHSC buildings. Ability to drive to all remote network communication centers.
