Job description
Solano County Department of Information Technology (DoIT) provides customer-oriented and convenient access to information and services through the use of technology; anytime - anywhere. The County strives for cost-effective use of technology, with interactive exchange and sharing of data within departments, with constituents, with other governments and business partners. The guiding principles of DoIT are:
- Support and facilitate access to County information for the public and its employees and to help the County conduct its business in a fast and easy manner

- Provide safe and secure systems and an integration mechanism to streamline business practices

Requirements
The ideal candidate will demonstrate advanced knowledge in modern data warehouse technologies, Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse, Kimball data modeling, facts and dimensions design, and data engineering practices including Medallion Architecture. They should be skilled in ETL development using SSIS and Azure Data Factory, and proficient in SQL, Python, and R. Strong experience with Power BI, DevOps, Purview, and Dynamics CRM is highly desirable. Preferred certifications include Azure Data Fundamentals, Azure AI Associate, Azure Data Engineer or Azure Solution Architect, DAMA CDMP, and Power BI Data Analyst., Education: Equivalent to an Associate's degree, preferably in information technology, or a closely related field.
Experience: Depending upon assignment: Five (5) years of experience performing progressively responsible software development, or infrastructure management duties and functions.
Note: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in information technology, management information systems may be substituted for two years of experience.
Note: Additional experience may substitute on a year for year basis for the educational requirement.
LICENSING, CERTIFICATION AND REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Applicants may be required to possess a valid California Driver's License, Class C.
Note: All licenses, certificates and registrations must be kept current while employed in this class., To be eligible, applicant must have served at least 181 consecutive days of active duty in the Armed Forces of the United States and have received either an honorable discharge or a general discharge under honorable conditions. A COPY OF THE DD 214, SHOWING DISCHARGE TYPE (GENERALLY COPY 4), MUST BE RECEIVED IN THE HUMAN RESOURCES DEPARTMENT BY THE FINAL FILING DATE (or APPLICATION REVIEW DEADLINE).
Applicants who have a service connected disability must also submit a recent award letter from the VA stating they are receiving disability benefits for service connected reasons.
Veteran applicants for initial County employment with an honorable or general under conditions discharge shall receive five (5) points added to their combined score.
