Job description

Greenstone Meats is seeking an IT Security Analyst. Reporting to the Director of Information Technology, you will join our Technology and Transformation Team at Greenstone Meats. As we continue our "from pasture to plate" legacy, we are seeking an experienced IT Security Analyst to provide a security-first lens to our growing operations.

In this role, you will bridge the gap between technical infrastructure and business risk. You will be responsible for implementing operational improvements, maintaining our security posture, and fostering a culture of cybersecurity awareness across our corporate and operational environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Security Operations & Incident Management:
  • Configure, monitor, and respond to incidents using our security monitoring tools and platform.
  • Leverage threat intelligence and security controls to identify infected systems, scope attacks, and execute mitigation, recovery, and remediation efforts.
  • Direct client conference calls and acts as a subject matter expert during high-severity security breaches.
  • Vulnerability & Risk Management:
  • Plan and execute regular vulnerability assessments (e.g., using Rapid7, Nessus, or Qualys) to monitor and address security gaps.
  • Maintain the information security risk register and facilitate regular reviews with internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure our network infrastructure, LaaS (Logging as a Service), and PaaS (Platform as a Service) are securely designed, configured, and patched in a timely manner.
  • Strategy & Awareness:
  • Identify and evaluate human risks to the organization, developing behavioral changes and security awareness programs to mitigate threats.
  • Manage, update, and enforce IT security and privacy policies, ensuring accuracy-based audits to guarantee consistency.
  • Infrastructure Collaboration:
  • Work closely with the IT team to provide comprehensive security support for Windows environments, network components, Microsoft 365, and Azure cloud infrastructure.
  • Develop and implement automation scripts (e.g., PowerShell) to enhance the efficiency of security and IT processes.
  • Oversee identity and access management (IAM) and support escalated service/infrastructure tickets when required., * You will be the first dedicated marketing resource for the US market, a genuine opportunity to build the function from the ground up and shape how marketing shows up in the business
  • You will have direct access to the Marketing Director (based in Canada) and real visibility into how commercial strategy is built and executed
  • You will work across two of the fastest-growing premium protein categories in the US: grass-fed beef and lamb
  • You will be part of a team that is transitioning from tactical execution to demand-led growth and your work will be central to that shift

Requirements

  • A post-secondary degree in Computer Science, Computer Security, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Information Security and/or relevant IT infrastructure roles (e.g., Network, Cloud, Sysadmin).

Technical Competencies:

  • Cloud & Systems: Strong experience administering Windows environments and Azure/Microsoft 365/D365 cloud infrastructure.
  • Security Tools: Hands-on experience with SIEM software (e.g., Splunk, QRadar, Microsoft Sentinel) and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
  • Analysis: Background in Networking, Forensics, and Threat Analysis; ability to interpret logs and indicators of compromise (IOCs).

Soft Skills & Communication:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate technical security risks effectively to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrable experience updating technical documentation, incident response playbooks, and knowledge base articles.
  • Strong analytical skills with an ability to prioritize critical incidents under pressure.

Considerations:

  • Relevant IT Security Certifications (e.g., CISSP, CompTIA Security+, Azure Security Engineer Associate) are highly preferred.
