Job description
Schneider Electric is seeking a dynamic and technically proficient Solution Architect to support the sale of tailored data center-related cooling solutions. This role involves engaging with customers to understand their complex requirements and developing multi-product solutions that meet the highest industry standards. The Solution Architect will play a crucial role in the success of our cooling line of business, requiring a blend of technical expertise and strong interpersonal skills What will you do?
- Develop and lead technical liquid cooling solutions tailored to client needs.
- Collaborate with sales teams and customers to refine business requirements.
- Design and recommend solutions for complex product configurations.
- Work with suppliers and external engineering consultants to resolve technical challenges and enhance system features, quality, cost, and performance.
- Assist in multiple ongoing projects, ensuring timely completion of tasks.
- Lead the creation, review, and submission of technical support documentation.
- Generate reports based on customer requirements.
- Manage projects, tasks, and reporting for customers and leadership.
- Research and recommend product line improvements.
- Collaborate with R&D to integrate new components and products.
- Adhere to and contribute to development policies, procedures, and standards.
- Present technical solutions to management, clients, and peers.
- Ensure proper documentation and closure of resolved incidents.

Requirements
- Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- 5-10 years of position-related experience
- Minimum 2 years of customer-facing experience in a technical sales support role
- Experience in sizing and design of fans, condenser coils, evaporator, heat exchanger, pumps, and other hydronic and refrigeration components using simulation tools required.
- Experience with liquid and air-cooling systems for datacenter systems
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong mathematical, thermodynamic, electro-mechanical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and influence others.
- Creative and effective resolution of complex technical issues.
- Proficiency in MS Office 365 for drafting proposals, creating tables, charts, and internal and external presentations.
- Knowledge of commercial HVAC industry specifications, codes, and standards (e.g., ASME, UL, ETL, IEC, NFPA).
- Knowledge of data center committee standards (ASHRAE TC 9.9 and Open Compute Project)
- Quick understanding and interpretation of customer needs to identify appropriate technical solutions.
- Mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with mechanical components, piping systems, pumps, motors, controls systems or other industrial equipment.
- Experience with SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD is a plus.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel is a plus.
Physical Requirements/Abilities (If necessary)
- Office environment with minimal lifting of thirty pounds or less.
- May require navigating stairs and maneuvering through the plant environment for guided tours.

For this U.S. based position, the expected pay range is USD 117,600 - USD 176,400 per year. This pay range includes base pay and short-term incentives. Within the pay range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
