Job description

Are you a bright, ambitious Helpdesk Support Engineer looking to work on complex systems with plenty of learning opportunities?

You could be joining a hugely successful and profitable Hedge Fund in their Jersey office.

As a Helpdesk Support Engineer you'll provide first line support across a broad range of hardware, software, networking, collaboration and trading technologies, taking ownership of incidents from initial diagnosis through to resolution. Collaborating with internal technology teams and external vendors you'll help maintain a reliable, high-performance IT environment that supports business critical operations around the clock as part of a global team.

Alongside day-to-day support, you'll play an active role in onboarding and offboarding staff, maintaining IT documentation, improving service desk processes and contributing to technology initiatives that enhance operational efficiency. You'll also develop a deep understanding of the firm's proprietary applications and the technology that underpins a modern Hedge Fund.

Requirements

  • You have experience in helpdesk or IT support roles within a finance / investment management environment
  • You have a strong knowledge of Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office Suite and common desktop applications
  • You have a good working knowledge of networking concepts and troubleshooting (TCP/IP, VPN, DNS, DHCP)
  • You have excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues
  • You're proactive, keen to learn and expand your skillset - likely to attend conferences, read / contribute to blogs or run a home network
  • You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical users at all levels of the business
  • You're degree educated in a STEM discipline, Computer Science or similar discipline preferred
