Job description
This position exists to perform responsible, technical, and professional work in planning, scheduling, and organizing repair and support services staff., Supervises, plans and coordinates repairs and support for all types of electronic equipment, peripherals and software. Responsible for maintenance and up keep of shop equipment and tools. Plans, coordinates with parts clerk to maintain stock level of parts and supplies. Assists other technicians and support staff with repairs on electronic equipment as needed. Plans and trains staff in support services. Works directly with the Coordinator, Senior Network Project.
Requirements
High School Diploma, equivalent, or approved trade school. A minimum of five years experience in the telecommunications field. Associates degree in electronics or associated field experience preferred. Supervisory experience preferred. BICSI certification preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to assign and supervise tasks. The ability to communicate written and oral instructions. Ability to prepare procedures and technical documents. Capable of performing task and troubleshooting techniques. Ability to coordinate projects. Must have good communications skills and capable of promoting good customer relations. Ability to understand software applications. Bilingual/biliterate preferred.
Work Context
Requires some sitting and standing, walking and moving about to coordinate work. Requires the use of alternative communication systems, such as electronic mail, telephones and computers. Requires coordination of work tasks to establish priorities, set goals and meet deadlines. Requires face-to-face discussions and contact with individuals and/or teams. Requires work with both internal and external contacts, and with the public.
Physical Environment
Requires working indoors in environmentally controlled conditions. Requires sitting for the majority of the day, and the ability to lift, carry, move and/or position objects infrequently weighing up to 30 pounds and frequently weighing up to 20 pounds.
