Job description
This position is for a VDI Engineer to support a 6-month contract-to-hire opportunity. The role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) solutions. The selected candidate will work collaboratively within a team to define system VDI architecture and resolve challenges to achieve mission outcomes in a fast-paced environment. This role is fully onsite during normal business hours, Monday through Friday.
PLEASE NOTE: Candidates must be able to obtain and/or maintain a Department of Defense Top Secret/SCI security clearance as a condition and continuation of employment*
Requirements
Education: A Bachelor's degree is required. Relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Experience: A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience is required.
Clearance: Ability to obtain/maintain DOD Top Secret/SCI Clearance.
Certification(s): Security+ required
Qualified candidates will have the following experience and skills:
- Design and define system VDI architecture in collaboration with the team.
- Manage thin clients using an element manager such as Wyse Management.
- Perform pre-production testing to validate the stability, compatibility, and functionality of VDI image updates.
- Utilize scripting languages, especially PowerShell, for automation and workflow optimization.
- Support a fast-paced environment with high expectations and directly impact mission outcomes.
Technical Skills:

Security+ certification.

Experience with Omnissa Horizon hosted on vSphere.

Understanding of the impact of GPOs on a VDI image.

Experience with profile management solutions.

Familiarity with DISA STIGs.

Experience with VDI monitoring solutions (e.g., Liquidware Stratusphere).

Proficiency in scripting languages, particularly PowerShell.

Familiarity with Image as Code solutions (e.g., HashiCorp Packer). Preferred Qualifications

Experience with FSLogix.

Experience with Dell Wyse Management Suite.

Familiarity with NDES and 802.1x.

Familiarity with endpoint security solutions such as CrowdStrike and Trellix.

Familiarity with Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP.

Familiarity with application packaging tools like Liquidware FlexApp.
