Job description

We are currently looking on behalf of one of clients based in Zurich canton for a Linux system engineer. This is a permanent hybrid role.

Your role:

  • Responsible for the operation and further development of a wide variety of different technologies, both on-premises and in the Azure cloud, including:
  • Linux server infrastructure, i.e., operating systems including their security, as well as selected databases and web server products
  • Container platform infrastructure (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker, etc.) and deployment via CI/CD pipeline
  • Logging infrastructure (Elastic) and the integration of peripheral systems in the areas of operations and security (i.e., SIEM)
  • Monitoring and alerting infrastructure for monitoring all systems in collaboration with other teams
  • Collaboration with the agile ICT teams, technical and subject matter experts, and business stakeholders.

Your profile

Requirements

  • Higher education in computer science and/or several years of experience as a Linux systems engineer
  • Profound experience with the operation and further development of support infrastructures (e.g., BIG-IP, Elastic, Icinga, etc.)
  • Experience with automation (scripting and configuration management such as SaltStack)
  • Basic knowledge of network technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, TLS, Reserve Proxy, etc.)
  • Basic knowledge of storage technologies (e.g., NetApp)
  • Strong customer and service focus, high innovative strength, and a passion for good product quality
  • Holistic strategic thinking, a structured, methodical approach, and the ability to translate operational requirements into practical solutions
  • Good communication skills, strong persuasiveness, and enjoyment in developing targeted products with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong team orientation with a solution-focused, integrative approach
  • Experience with and enjoyment of agile working methods (e.g., SAFe, Scrum, Kanban)
  • Fluent German language skills, both spoken and written
