Intermediate Java Developer - Cape Town

Develop and support software, including applications, database integration, interfaces, and new functionality enhancements.

• Collaborate with frontend developers to integrate user-facing elements.
• Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
• Implement automated testing platforms and unit tests.
• Perform data migration, transformation, and scripting.
• Troubleshoot issues and communicate effectively with the team.

This role follows a hybrid working model, requiring 2-3 days per week in our Cape Town office.

• 4-5 years of relevant experience.
• Proficiency in Java 8+ and relevant frameworks such as Spring and Hibernate.
• Experience with microservices architecture and RESTful API services.
• Experience working in an English-speaking environment.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Analytical mindset and good problem-solving skills.
• Experience in frontend JavaScript frameworks such as Angular, React, and Vue is a plus.
• Knowledge of CI/CD practices is a plus.
• Familiarity with cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, and GCP is a plus.
