Job description
Senior Software Engineer Do you want to develop high-quality software while playing a key role in the technical evolution of innovative energy storage systems? What will you do? As a Senior Software Engineer, you will develop advanced software for Alfen's Energy Storage Systems (ESS). You will be involved throughout the entire software development lifecycle-from analysing complex technical challenges and designing software solutions to implementation, validation, and continuous optimisation of our products. Drawing on your experience, you will translate complex requirements into robust, scalable, and future-proof software solutions. Within the development team, you will play a leading technical role. You will actively contribute to software architecture, make well-founded technical decisions, and help shape the ongoing evolution of our software platform. Working closely with software engineers, hardware engineers, system architects, test engineers, and product management, you will deliver innovative solutions that meet the highest standards of reliability, performance, and quality. In addition to software development, you will contribute to the continuous professional growth of the team. You will share your expertise through code reviews and technical knowledge sessions, support colleagues in solving complex technical challenges, and help improve development processes, tooling, and software quality. You stay up to date with emerging technologies and how they can further enhance our energy storage solutions. In short, this role combines hands-on software engineering with technical leadership, allowing you to make a direct contribution to innovative technologies that accelerate the global energy transition. Requirements
We are looking for a software engineer with a solid technical foundation and a genuine passion for technology and innovation. In addition, you have:
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- At least 5 years of professional experience in software development, preferably using C, C++, Python, and Linux.
- Experience with, or a strong interest in, software development for Energy Storage Systems (ESS) or industrial systems.
- Experience working within an Agile software development environment.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
- A proactive mindset and a continuous drive to learn, improve, and develop yourself.
