As a Senior Cyber Security Consultant, you'll join a highly skilled team delivering critical cyber security expertise on a high-profile Ministry of Defence programme.

Based at our Farnborough site, you'll work alongside some of the UK's leading defence and cyber specialists, helping to ensure complex systems remain secure, resilient and compliant throughout their lifecycle., As a Senior Cyber Security Consultant, you will act as a trusted security adviser, providing subject matter expertise to MOD security stakeholders across a complex and evolving programme. You'll play a key role in maintaining security assurance, managing cyber risks and ensuring systems continue to meet MOD and HMG security requirements., * Maintain security risk assessments and Secure by Design documentation to support ongoing security assurance.

  • Manage and maintain Codes of Connection, ensuring continued compliance and approval.
  • Assess the impact of changes to MOD and HMG security policies and advise on programme implications.
  • Support the Security Manager (SyM) by preparing security reports and coordinating quarterly Security Working Groups.
  • Monitor MODCERTs and other vulnerability intelligence sources, providing guidance on system patching and remediation activities.
  • Produce and maintain technical security and cryptographic management documentation.
  • Design and deliver cyber security awareness and training across the programme.
  • Provide expert security advice on System Change Requests and their associated risks.

Requirements

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced cyber security professional who enjoys working across technical and stakeholder environments while influencing security outcomes on mission-critical projects., * Proven experience in an information or cyber security role within a Ministry of Defence environment.

  • Strong understanding and practical application of the NIST Cybersecurity Framework or equivalent security frameworks.
  • Broad knowledge of IT security architecture, cyber threats, vulnerabilities and appropriate mitigations.
  • Experience producing security risk assessments, managing security assurance activities and through-life risk management.
  • Experience managing IT Health Checks, interpreting technical findings and developing Risk Treatment Plans.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage priorities and work independently., * Cyber Council Chartered Professional status, a legacy certification (such as CESG Certified Cyber Security Professional), or equivalent demonstrable experience.
