Job description

An employer is looking for a Software Engineer in Redmond, WA. You will turn compliance requirements into reliable, production-ready software. One day you are designing a case management workflow that routes regulator communications to the right team within service-level agreements. The next, you are building an event-driven pipeline that detects when a service disruption crosses a country-specific reporting threshold and generates the required notification. You regularly meet with compliance and legal stakeholders to understand new obligations, then translate those into system designs. You also maintain and improve existing tools by tightening observability, hardening security controls, and reducing operational burden so the team can focus on net-new automation., * Design and build cloud-native compliance workflow services that streamline & accelerate various compliance functions, including incident reporting and external filing processes

  • Translate multi-jurisdiction regulatory requirements into scalable system designs, collaborating directly with compliance, legal, and operations stakeholders
  • Build and maintain event-driven integrations across internal services, including notification systems, ticketing workflows, and translation pipelines
  • Build systems that handle sensitive regulatory data with appropriate encryption, access controls, and audit trails to meet auditability requirements
  • Operate production services with comprehensive monitoring, alarming, and logging, and participate in on-call rotations
  • Raise the bar through thorough code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and drive operational improvements across the team's service portfolio

Requirements

3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience (design patterns, reliability, and scaling of new and existing systems) Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Java, C#, C++, Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Full-stack development experience across both backend and frontend/scripting languages Experience building event-driven or workflow orchestration systems (e.g., Step Functions, EventBridge, or equivalent) Experience with serverless development on AWS (Lambda, SQS/SNS, DynamoDB, Step Functions, EventBridge) or equivalent Experience with infrastructure as code (CDK, CloudFormation, or equivalent such as Terraform or Pulumi) Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing in production environments Experience with security services (KMS, IAM) and data protection patterns Experience building solutions using generative AI services (Bedrock or equivalent LLM APIs) for classification, summarization, translation, or entity extraction Experience building case management, ticketing, or workflow routing systems Familiarity with regulatory compliance domains (telecommunications, financial services, or similar)
