Job description

Summary: This onsite position is responsible for providing support to the user community as well as assisting other IT department members with forward-looking projects and general maintenance of the computer/network systems., * Handle technical support requests from users.

  • Document problems and fixes utilizing ticket system.

  • Maintain a highly effective security posture to minimize risk of cyber-attacks.

  • Work with manufacturing staff and vendors to troubleshoot computer-related issues with manufacturing equipment.

  • Assist other IT department members to install, configure, maintain (troubleshoot, patch, upgrade) various equipment including (but not limited to):

  • VoIP-based phones/system

  • IP-based CCTV cameras/system

  • Windows PCs/servers and Linux servers and the applications running on them.

  • Network firewalls and switches & WiFi APs and controllers

  • Network cabling (twisted pair and fiber)

  • Print servers, laser printers, and bar code printers

  • Barcode scanning equipment

Assist other IT department members with maintaining the entire computer infrastructure.

Develop familiarity with internal applications in order to provide support for them.

Respond to off-hours emergencies and urgent critical situations.

Local travel to and from work site locations as needed.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree (in computer science or other technical field of study), or successful completion of a two-year vocational school Systems Administration preferred. High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Strong problem solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently with limited supervision.
  • Ability to communicate ideas and information written or verbally to peers, customers and leadership in a professional, tactful and timely manner.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment helpful, but not required.
