Senior Data Engineer

We're looking for a Senior Data Engineer / Technical Lead to join a dynamic data engineering team delivering enterprise-scale data solutions on Microsoft Azure. You'll play a key role in shaping technical standards, mentoring engineers, and building high-performance data platforms.

What you'll do

• Lead the technical direction of the data engineering team.
• Design, build, optimize, and maintain scalable data pipelines on Azure.
• Review code, validate pull requests, and ensure engineering best practices.
• Coach and support junior data engineers.
• Work closely with Data Platform Architects to translate architecture into technical solutions.
• Recommend the best technical approach across data ingestion, transformation, and consumption layers.
• Support robust dimensional data modelling and data warehouse design.
• Improve platform performance, reliability, and data quality.
• Contribute to the continuous evolution of data engineering standards and practices.

Must-have skills

• Strong experience as a Senior Data Engineer or Technical Lead.
• Expert knowledge of:
• Azure Synapse Analytics
• Azure Data Factory (ADF)
• Mapping Data Flows (MDF)
• Azure Databricks
• PySpark
• SQL
• Solid experience with dimensional modelling, star schema, and data warehouse concepts.
• Strong technical decision-making and problem-solving skills.
• Experience performing code reviews and promoting engineering standards.

• Power BI
• Semantic data modelling
