Job description
As a Senior Software Engineer within Thales Alenia Space, you will contribute to the development of software solutions that enable the electrical testing and verification of spacecraft equipment and subsystems.
You will:

Design, develop and validate software libraries, scripts, drivers and processing tools for spacecraft test means.

Develop robust software solutions in Python and C++ for automated test environments.

Understand spacecraft interfaces, test plans and engineering requirements to deliver reliable verification software.

Collaborate closely with hardware engineers to validate test benches and integration environments.
-
Support electrical, functional and performance testing of spacecraft equipment in laboratories and cleanroom facilities.

Take technical ownership of your activities, ensuring delivery on quality, schedule and cost objectives.

Operate and integrate laboratory instrumentation and automated measurement equipment.

Participate in software validation, troubleshooting and investigation of test anomalies.

Produce high-quality technical documentation and contribute to project reviews in English.

Work within international multidisciplinary teams following engineering standards and quality processes.

Contribute to continuous improvement by proposing innovative technical solutions and best development practices.

You hold a Master's or Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications, Electronics, Aerospace Engineering, Physics or a related technical discipline.

You have more than 3 years of professional experience in software development, integration or test engineering within complex engineering environments.

You are recognised as a team player and enjoy collaborative work with multidisciplinary teams.

You are analytical, structured and detail-oriented.

You are considered a proactive problem solver with excellent troubleshooting skills.

You communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

You enjoy taking ownership of challenging technical activities while delivering high-quality solutions on time.
COMPETENCIES:

You have solid experience in Python and C++ software development, applying object-oriented design principles and developing maintainable, high-quality code.

You have experience developing software for automated testing, electrical verification or integration activities.

You are familiar with software validation, debugging and troubleshooting in laboratory or integration environments. You have experience working with measurement and control equipment and communication interfaces.

You have a good understanding of software integration processes and technical documentation.

You are comfortable understanding technical specifications, test plans and engineering procedures.
-
You have experience working with version control systems.
-
You demonstrate autonomy, ownership and commitment to cost, schedule and quality objectives.

You are fluent in English.
NICE TO HAVE:

Experience in the space, aerospace or defence industry.

Experience with electronic instrumentation such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, multimeters, spectrum analysers or power meters.

Knowledge of LabVIEW FPGA, multithreading, embedded systems, hardware/software integration or firmware development.
