The role also requires providing technical support across a range of desktop, telephony, and server hardware systems.
The software you will be responsible for administering comprises a combination of standard Microsoft applications and specialised policing systems, for which full training and awareness will be provided. You will manage the onboarding and offboarding of users across CTP-controlled systems, ensuring appropriate access and compliance with governance requirements.
Requirements
The successful candidate will take ownership of managing all outstanding requests and incidents, working closely with affected stakeholders and resolver groups to deliver effective resolutions in line with agreed service level agreements. A key requirement of the role is the ability to communicate complex technical issues in clear, accessible terms, alongside effectively managing user expectations and building strong professional relationships, including with senior stakeholders.
We are seeking an individual who can demonstrate the ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team, showing initiative and the capacity to operate with minimal supervision. The role requires an understanding of the policing environment and a proactive approach to applying skills and expertise to support the efficient and effective functioning of the department. There may also be occasions where the role holder is required to apply their skills to tasks outside of the core remit in order to meet wider departmental needs.
Please be aware that if your current post is within South Wales Police's Public Service Centre you must have completed 2 years' tenured service before applying for any other roles.
The role is based in Bridgend; however, travel to multiple sites across Wales and the United Kingdom will be required, including occasional overnight stays.
This post requires the successful Candidate to successfully complete vetting to MV/SC and DV (Developed Vetting) Levels.
The post will also require the successful completion of an additional security induction process, part of which requires pre-screening checks of nationality and foreign connections. It must be stressed that this is in addition to Force Management Vetting. Candidates must achieve both clearances to take up this post.
