Job description

  • Lead the design, build, deployment, and support of cloud infrastructure and services using automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles.
  • Promote and embed DevOps best practices across teams, encouraging continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  • Build, improve, deploy, and maintain reliable, scalable, and secure services and environments.
  • Identify areas where processes, tooling, or practices can be improved and provide guidance on implementing best-practice solutions.
  • Take ownership of large and complex technical workstreams, ensuring successful delivery and alignment with organisational objectives.
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation, including operational procedures, architecture diagrams, and deployment guides.
  • Support development and testing teams by providing stable, well-managed environments and deployment pipelines.
  • Coach, mentor, and support colleagues, fostering knowledge sharing and capability development within the team.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve system reliability, performance, security, and operational efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot infrastructure, deployment, and application issues, implementing sustainable solutions.

Requirements

  • Strong experience in DevOps engineering, cloud infrastructure, and automation.
  • Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Expertise in Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or equivalent.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipeline design, implementation, and optimisation.
  • Strong understanding of configuration management, monitoring, logging, and deployment automation.
  • Knowledge of containerisation and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Ability to lead technical initiatives and manage complex workstreams.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to mentor, coach, and share knowledge effectively.
  • Experience working within Agile delivery environments.
  • Excellent problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.
