Junior/Mid Developer Node.js

Gnar Software is currently looking for an talented junior or mid-level back-end or full stack developer to join our small but growing team in Guildford, Surrey. The current availability is for a motivated & ambitious developer to work across our varied tech stack which will include Node.js, PHP, React & Next.js development.

The experience that the successful applicant will gain is not to be understated. You will work closely with the technical lead and small development team. The role will be varied and diverse, with a great opportunity to grow with a growing business. Additional experience could be gained in devops.

We have a fun and relaxed work environment in our central Guildford office.

The Job:

Developing & maintaining applications, APIs & integrations in line with our client and internal requirements.

• Demonstrable experience in Node.js development
• Demonstrable experience in React or Next.js
• Have some experience or desire to learn PHP (Wordpress plugins & Laravel)
• Have a solid understanding of API development
• Have a solid understanding of Docker & containerisation
• Have some understanding of asynchronous programming
• Have some understanding of micro-service architectures
• Take initiative and use AI tools to improve development efficiency pragmatically
• Take pride in writing beautiful and reusable code

Nice to have:

• Dev-ops experience or a desire to learn dev-ops technologies: AWS, Terraform, Ansible, Docker

• Experience - we offer a wide variety of services to our clients utilising lots of different modern tech, so there will be plenty of opportunity to work with new languages and frameworks.
