Job description

  • Collaborate with our Scrum development team to design, implement, and optimise solutions and improvements for our software.
  • Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code for both front-end and back-end systems with minimal supervision.
  • Write and optimise complex database queries for high-performance data retrieval and manipulation.
  • Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve complex issues in existing code.
  • Investigate and resolve customer support issues, providing technical insight and solutions.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to best practices across the team.
  • Collaborate with team members to develop and maintain technical documentation.
  • Work flexibly as a proactive member of the Scrum team and contribute to other activities when required.
  • Act in a courteous, professional, and ethical manner in all interactions with customers, suppliers, and colleagues.
  • Advise our line manager or management team on workload, technical challenges, and work progress.
  • Contribute positively to improvement initiatives and propose innovative solutions.
  • Comply with our values, service levels, policies, and legislative requirements.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of professional experience in software development, ideally with exposure to both front-end and back-end technologies.
  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience with C# .NET Core, MVC, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and JQuery.
  • Strong understanding of SQL databases and data modelling.
  • Experience with Git and GitHub.
  • Experience building and consuming APIs, including RESTful services.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Good knowledge of Agile or Scrum methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently on moderately complex tasks and contribute to architectural discussions.
  • Familiarity with Azure is preferred.
  • Experience with front-end frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue is preferred.
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automated testing is preferred.
  • Full clean driving licence and access to a car.
  • Ability to work in person and attend our offices Monday to Wednesday each week.
  • Successful candidates must be willing to undertake a BPSS check.
