Solution Architect

As a Solution Architect, you will play a pivotal role in delivering best of breed solutions for the UK's largest Defence Contractor. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, both internal and external, and bring to bear your experience as a Solution Architect to help deliver innovative solutions, or act as the Project Technical Authority to ensure Engineering governance and compliance throughout the Project Engineering Lifecycle.

You will be engaged on projects across the breadth of the Enterprise, delivering solutions ranging from the smaller scale to multi-million pound programmes of work conducted over several years which will directly contribute to our organisation's growth and success.

Core Duties:

• Defining the solution architecture and design for the project to meet business and system requirements, within the project constraints of cost and timescale, and the agreed architectural and technical framework
• Capturing and defining the as-is and to-be application, data and technology architectures for the assigned projects
• Ensuring and assuring that the overall functional and technical design of the solution is acceptable and fit for purpose
• Providing Project Technical Authority leadership of the IM&T solution and associated 3rd parties/product teams, ensuring that the solution architecture and design is as required and is communicated effectively
• Liaising with internal and external IM&T suppliers and product teams
• Working effectively with the Project Managers to support the development of the project plan, reviewing estimates and schedules, and identifying, In the Shared Services Enterprise IT Project Architecture team, we are experiencing high growth and are working across a breadth of capabilities, including several hundred services and projects, supplier refreshes and the design and implementation of new architecture. • Experience in delivering IM&T solutions together with associated architecture deliverables
• Good experience in design, development, test and release of Information Systems
• Knowledge and experience of working within architecture frameworks such as TOGAF
• Understanding of IM&T / software development lifecycle (including methodologies e.g. Agile) and associated reviews, policies, standards and governance processes
• Previous experience of technical leadership e.g. acting as a Technical Authority
