Job description
- We will deploy, monitor, maintain, and improve our Azure platform.
- We will provide timely and efficient break-fix support to resolve system issues and minimise downtime in line with Service Level Agreements, including out-of-hours support.
- We will monitor system performance, availability, and capacity, and perform infrastructure as code optimisation to ensure cost efficiency and reliable service.
- We will provide 3rd line support for live Azure platform services, address complex issues, and coordinate with internal teams to maintain service uptime.
- We will deliver and support customer infrastructure requirements for service enhancements and new projects.
- We will use our deep expertise in Microsoft Azure IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS offerings to design, implement, and manage cloud-based solutions aligned to business and technical needs.
- We will design, build, and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines in collaboration with design partners to enable faster, more reliable software releases.
- We will implement best practices for version control, continuous integration, and code review processes.
- We will use Infrastructure as Code tools such as Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates or Terraform to provision and manage Azure cloud resources.
- We will implement security best practices and align infrastructure with compliance frameworks such as the Azure Security Benchmark, CIS benchmark, NIST, and NCSC.
- We will configure real-time monitoring and alerting within Azure to gain insights into application performance and system health, and set up proactive alerts to respond promptly to incidents and anomalies.
- We will foster strong relationships with software development, testing, and operations teams to ensure seamless integration of DevOps practices.
- We may be required to undertake other duties assigned by our line manager as appropriate.

This is a 12-month fixed term Azure DevOps Engineer role with the possibility of extension, offered at a salary of £45,000. We are a fully remote, UK-based organisation with flexible working, and we come together in person twice a year for our All Hands events, with occasional in-person team meetings. The role sits within our Service department and reports to the Azure Engineering Manager. Requirements
- We are looking for extensive experience in Azure DevOps, including managing CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code in live services support.
- We need knowledge of Infrastructure as Code principles and tools such as Terraform and Azure Resource Manager (ARM), with experience provisioning and managing cloud resources.
- We need understanding of security best practices for cloud environments and the ability to align infrastructure with compliance frameworks such as the Azure Security Benchmark, CIS benchmark, NIST, and NCSC.
- We need excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders and communicate technical concepts clearly and concisely.
- We need experience developing using JavaScript and C#.
