Job description
We are seeking a Design Engineer who excels in CAD design and has experience producing cut files for CNC machining. In this role, you'll collaborate closely with our management team to iterate on current trailer designs and engineer next-generation products that meet the evolving demands of outdoor adventurers. You will be a key player in ensuring product quality, design efficiency, and seamless production processes., * CAD & Engineering: Create detailed 2D drawings and 3D models for new and existing products using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar). Develop precise cut files for CNC machines, ensuring accuracy and manufacturability.
- Product Development: Work with the management team to brainstorm, design, and test new product concepts for trailers, off-road accessories, and related outdoor gear. Iterate on existing product lines to enhance functionality, reduce production costs, and maintain high quality standards.
- Collaboration & Project Management: Coordinate with cross-functional teams (production, marketing, and leadership) to ensure a smooth transition from design to manufacturing. Balance multiple projects simultaneously, managing timelines and deliverables effectively.
- Quality & Efficiency: Conduct design analyses, simulations, and feasibility studies to optimize product performance. Recommend material and component selections based on cost, functionality, and durability. Continuously seek opportunities to improve product design and manufacturing workflows.
Requirements
- Education & Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience). Proven experience (3+ years) in CAD design and producing CNC cut files, preferably in the automotive, RV, or related manufacturing industries.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Fusion 360, or similar). Familiarity with CNC machinery, manufacturing processes, and best practices. Strong knowledge of materials (metals, composites, etc.) used in trailer or vehicle production.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with management and production teams. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities. Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects efficiently.
