Job description
The Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) will review functional requirements, user stories and test assets from internal stakeholders; build automated test cases, contribute to our test pipelines, and support the maintenance of the test assets as we deliver our releases to our growing client base.
Responsibilities

Apply expertise in specific product areas to ensure that the product suite meets documented acceptance criteria and client quality expectations

Contribute to the expansion of our automated testing capabilities and coverage

Explore and implement AI-assisted testing strategies to enable, enhance, and augment QE team workflows and processes through skill development and agentic workflows

Evaluate and champion AI/ML tooling (e.g. test generation, defect prediction, intelligent test selection) to improve team velocity and quality coverage

Instill QA best practices on your scrum team by collaborating on test coverage

Ability to write tests from abstract requirements

Provide feedback on product performance and user experience

Participate in all aspects of the Agile SDLC; providing constructive feedback during grooming, retrospectives, and planning sessions

Configure and verify continuous build plans in Jenkins and SonarQube to ensure quality of code changes

Contribute to the review of product documentation/release notes
Requirements
-
7+ years of Software Quality Assurance experience, ideally with a focus in Financial Technology or related domain
-
Experience working in a successful Agile environment using Agile SDLC tools such as Jira, Bitbucket, and Jenkins

Foundational understanding of Git and GitHub, including pull requests, branching strategies, and code review workflows
-
Experience with GitHub Actions for CI/CD pipeline automation and test workflow orchestration
-
Coded UI Automation experience with Selenium WebDriver; Python and Pytest required

Working knowledge of a scripting language; Groovy and Ruby on Rails a plus

Experience with web service and API testing (Postman or equivalent)

Performance testing experience; JMeter or Locust.io a plus

SQL experience (MSSQL, Postgres)

Experience with containerized environments and deployment tooling (Docker, Gradle)

Familiarity with AI-assisted development and testing tools (e.g. Claude Code, AI-driven test generation, or LLM-based QA tooling)

Demonstrated ability to operate on a small team in a fast-paced environment with the ability to change directions as priorities shift

Desired Skills

Familiarity with code quality and static analysis tools such as SonarQube

Experience with monitoring and observability tooling, including APM, log collection/analysis, InfluxDB, and Grafana

Understanding of the deployment and maintenance of an N-Tier application in either manual or automated fashion

Familiarity with testing in Spring frameworks

Integration testing: inbound file processing, outbound file creation, API testing, configuration testing

Experience with Financial technologies such as FIX, IDC, Reuters, Morningstar, or Bloomberg

Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, resolve, and explain system-level issues affecting the application

Ability to work across teams and disciplines to find equitable solutions to problems that arise
-
Experience applying AI/ML techniques to quality engineering challenges such as flaky test detection, risk-based test prioritization, or automated root cause analysis
Education
BS degree in Finance, Computer Science, or equivalent work experience. MSCS is a plus.
