Senior Software Developer

Grant Leading Technology is seeking a candidate for Senior Software Developer to join our dynamic team. The candidate will support the modernization and expansion of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Enterprise Data Platform (EDP). This position will lead the design, development, and implementation of secure, scalable, and resilient integration solutions that enable enterprise-wide access to critical tax administration data and services.

The successful candidate will develop cloud-native integration frameworks, real-time data streaming solutions, API services, and modernization capabilities that connect IRS legacy systems, enterprise applications, cloud-based analytics platforms, and approved external data providers. This role requires expertise in distributed systems, cloud-native architectures, event-driven integration patterns, data movement technologies, and secure software development practices within a highly regulated federal environment.

This position will be remote, and the hours are 8 am to 5 pm EST., Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade software solutions supporting the IRS Enterprise Data Platform modernization initiativeImplement secure integrations with IRS and enterprise systems utilizing cloud-native services, data pipelines, messaging frameworks, and API-driven architecturesDevelop and maintain data ingestion, transformation, and integration services supporting structured, semi-structured, and streaming data workloadsDesign and implement real-time and near-real-time data exchange solutions using event-driven architecturesSupport modernization of legacy and mainframe-based systems through secure integration and migration strategiesDevelop secure APIs and microservices enabling enterprise access to IRS data assets and business servicesCollaborate with cloud engineers, data architects, cybersecurity specialists, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable integration solutionsImplement secure coding practices and integrate security controls throughout the software

development lifecycleSupport cloud-native data analytics and reporting platforms utilizing AWS-based servicesParticipate in architecture reviews, technical design sessions, code reviews, and modernization planning activitiesTroubleshoot and resolve complex integration, performance, and scalability issuesDevelop technical documentation, interface specifications, deployment procedures, and operational support materialsSupport Agile development processes and DevSecOps delivery pipelines, Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical disciplineMinimum of eight (8) years of software development experience supporting enterprise-scale applications and integration platformsMinimum of five (5) years of experience developing cloud-native applications and integration solutionsExperience designing and implementing distributed systems and microservices architecturesStrong proficiency in one or more programming languages: JavaPythonScalaC#JavaScript/TypeScript Experience with enterprise integration patterns and event-driven architecturesExperience developing secure APIs and service-oriented solutionsStrong understanding of relational and NoSQL database technologiesMust be able to pass a Minimum Background Investigation (MBI) checkMust live in the United States and be authorized to work in the United States
