Job description
The Director, Data and Analytics Governance leads the organization's data governance program, ensuring data is defined, consistent, and trusted across clinical, operational, and financial domains. This hands-on leader drives governance strategy and execution, from standards and data definitions to cataloging and lineage, while managing and developing the governance team.
They serve as the organizational authority on data meaning and usage, building credibility through deep engagement with the work. Partnering with senior stakeholders, they balance technical rigor with strong adoption and change management to ensure governance practices are not only well-designed but actively used, ultimately strengthening trust and consistency in analytical outputs.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
Requirements
- Education: Master's degree in Health Informatics, Information Management, or a related field preferred. Bachelor's degree in health informatics, information management, computer science, business analytics, or a related field required.
- License/Certifications: Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) or equivalent governance certification preferred.
- Experience: More than 10 years of experience in a data-focused role within a health system or similarly complex data environment with demonstrated exposure to data governance, data quality, or data documentation work required. Experience with enterprise data catalog implementation or data governance program buildout preferred.
