Job description

A client of Insight Global is seeking a Systems Engineer / Systems Architect - Model-Based Systems (MBSE) to support enterprise modernization initiatives for the Joint Transportation Management System (JTMS). The successful candidate will help define digital engineering strategy, develop system architectures, and collaborate with government and contractor teams supporting mission-critical transportation capabilities. This role is ideal for experienced systems engineers looking to expand their Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) expertise within an established digital engineering community.

Requirements

Active DoD Secret clearance or ability to obtain one.

  • Bachelor's degree in systems engineering, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 7+ years designing enterprise, systems, or solution architectures supporting large-scale IT or DoD programs.
  • Working knowledge of SysML/UML and architecture frameworks such as DoDAF or UAF.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, written, verbal, and briefing skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years of MBSE/Digital Engineering experience.
  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Experience supporting USTRANSCOM or DoD logistics modernization.
  • Experience with Cameo/MagicDraw, Sparx EA, Rhapsody, or similar tools.
  • Knowledge of cloud architectures, DevSecOps, Zero Trust, and DoD acquisition processes.
  • Professional certifications such as OCSMP, INCOSE CSEP/ESEP, TOGAF, SAFe, or AWS/Azure.
