Job description

A client of Insight Global is seeking an Information System Security Engineer (ISSE) to support Department of Defense information systems by implementing cybersecurity controls, hardening operating environments, managing vulnerabilities, and engineering secure technical solutions. This position serves as a key member of the cybersecurity engineering team responsible for implementing security controls, supporting Risk Management Framework activities, and ensuring compliance with Department of Defense and National Institute of Standards and Technology cybersecurity standards.

Requirements

Active Secret or Top Secret Clearance 3-5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, security engineering, or system hardening Experience conducting vulnerability assessments and remediation Hands-on experience with STIGs (Security Technical Implementation Guides) Experience using vulnerability management tools such as Tenable Security Center, Nessus, or similar Knowledge of secure system configurations and compliance requirements Strong troubleshooting, communication, and analytical skills Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Experience with CyberArk or other Privileged Access Management (PAM) tools Experience with cloud security assessment tools such as Tenable Cloud Security Experience supporting DoD cloud environments (AWS, Azure, etc.) Holds a cybersecurity certification such as CEH or another DoD 8140-approved certification Experience supporting mission-critical DoD systems and applications
