SUDBURY PUBLIC SCHOOLS PreK-8 District | Sudbury, Massachusetts Data Specialist Technology Department Reports To: Director of Technology ABOUT THE ROLE The Sudbury Public Schools (PreK-8) is seeking a detail-oriented, support-focused, and collaborative professional as the Data Specialist. This person should be comfortable both in the technical world of databases and online systems, and in the educational world working with talented teachers, administrators, and support staff. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Manage the Aspen Student Information System, which currently includes Student, Staff, Special Education, Scheduling, Health, Conduct, and Family modules. Submit the required DESE reports in a timely and accurate manner, including SIMS, EPIMS, SCS, SSDR, and other reports as mandated by local, state, and federal requirements. Manage access for SPS staff to state and federal databases and other resources, such as the DESE Security Portal and GEMS grant system. Provide Aspen end-users with support and training. Create and manage Aspen user accounts for staff and family users. Assist the Human Resources Department with updating Aspen with accurate staff information. Assist the Student Services Department with maintaining student registration data and special education records. Assist Administrators and the Curriculum Department with warehousing and accessing student assessment data. Coordinate movement of data between online systems. Design and maintain reports to support district decision-making, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of student and staff data. Monitor changes in state and federal reporting requirements and flag any impact on district processes. Adapt to the ever-changing data and education landscape. Perform other duties as assigned.
