Job description

  • Protect Parkland's data, systems, and networks by implementing cutting-edge security defenses
  • Research emerging threats and conduct log analysis to stay ahead of cyber risks
  • Support security scanning, testing, monitoring, and reporting technologies
  • Develop detection strategies and new defensive techniques against evolving adversaries
  • Perform network security scans and penetration tests to uncover vulnerabilities
  • Lead investigations and response efforts during security incidents
  • Conduct technical risk assessments and implement corrective actions
  • Support and maintain critical security tools including SIEM, IDS/IPS, and firewalls
  • Stay current with regulations like HIPAA and PCI to ensure compliance

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems required
  • Two years of experience in information systems security with focus on mobile device security, endpoint protection, vulnerability management, and incident response
  • Current CompTIA Security+ certification or equivalent required within six months of placement
  • Strong knowledge of NIST, HITRUST, PCI, and HIPAA Security Rule frameworks
  • Professional experience in system administration across multiple platforms
  • Excellent communication skills for explaining complex security issues
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems required
