Job description
- Protect Parkland's data, systems, and networks by implementing cutting-edge security defenses
- Research emerging threats and conduct log analysis to stay ahead of cyber risks
- Support security scanning, testing, monitoring, and reporting technologies
- Develop detection strategies and new defensive techniques against evolving adversaries
- Perform network security scans and penetration tests to uncover vulnerabilities
- Lead investigations and response efforts during security incidents
- Conduct technical risk assessments and implement corrective actions
- Support and maintain critical security tools including SIEM, IDS/IPS, and firewalls
- Stay current with regulations like HIPAA and PCI to ensure compliance
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems required
- Two years of experience in information systems security with focus on mobile device security, endpoint protection, vulnerability management, and incident response
- Current CompTIA Security+ certification or equivalent required within six months of placement
- Strong knowledge of NIST, HITRUST, PCI, and HIPAA Security Rule frameworks
- Professional experience in system administration across multiple platforms
- Excellent communication skills for explaining complex security issues
- Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems required
