Job description

Colorado Network Staffing (CNS) is seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Transition Assistance Program (TAP) Clerk to provide administrative and customer service support for military personnel transitioning from active duty to civilian life. The TAP Clerk serves as the first point of contact for service members, ensuring they receive accurate information, timely scheduling, and administrative support throughout the Transition Assistance Program.

  • Provide administrative support for the daily operation of the Transition Assistance Program (TAP).
  • Schedule service members for mandatory TAP workshops, briefings, and counseling appointments.
  • Maintain electronic and hard-copy participant records in accordance with program requirements.
  • Prepare participant packets, informational materials, and training documentation.
  • Verify participant eligibility and ensure all required documentation is complete before enrollment.
  • Monitor attendance records and update program databases accurately and timely.
  • Assist with data entry, filing, scanning, and document management., * Serve as the primary point of contact for transitioning service members, veterans, spouses, and eligible participants.
  • Respond to inquiries regarding TAP services, eligibility, scheduling, and program requirements.
  • Provide professional customer service both in person and over the telephone.
  • Coordinate with installation personnel, military units, and partner agencies to support participant scheduling and program delivery.
  • Assist instructors and facilitators with classroom setup and participant check-in.
  • Ensure participants receive required materials and complete all program documentation.

Compliance & Record Management

  • Maintain confidential personnel information in accordance with Privacy Act and DoD regulations.
  • Ensure participant records are complete, accurate, and compliant with applicable policies.
  • Prepare routine reports and assist with program metrics and performance tracking.
  • Support internal audits and quality assurance reviews.
  • Maintain office files, training records, and program documentation.

Office Operations

  • Coordinate office correspondence, calendars, and appointment scheduling.
  • Order and maintain office and classroom supplies.
  • Assist with meeting preparation and administrative projects.
  • Support special events, workshops, and outreach activities related to TAP services.
  • Perform other administrative duties as assigned., Minimal local travel may be required to support program meetings, outreach events, or training activities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of administrative, clerical, or customer service experience.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Experience maintaining confidential records with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team., * Experience supporting military personnel, veterans, or Department of Defense programs.
  • Knowledge of the Transition Assistance Program (TAP) or military personnel processes.
  • Experience working in a government or military administrative environment.
  • Familiarity with military terminology and organizational structure.
  • Associate degree in Business Administration, Office Administration, or a related field.

Benefits & conditions

This is a full-time position. Standard work hours are Monday through Friday during normal business hours. Occasional schedule adjustments may be required to support workshops, training events, or mission requirements.
